Junior Autumn Meeting Results

The Juniors Autumn Meeting was held at East Brighton GC on Sunday 26th September.  It was a fabulous day all round, but the girls had a bit of a challenge with the gusty winds out there.  Scores were good, and it was lovely to witness the girls having the opportunity to change out of their golf gear, and sit and enjoy their meal together after the golf.

The prizes are as follows:

Handicap trophy winner:  Samantha Worsey 38 points

Runner-up: Ruby Fisher 37 points

1st scratch:  Salysa Mason -  33 points
Runner-up:  Maisie Hassall - 27 points

It was sad to say farewell to Salysa as Junior Captain, she gave a lovely speech to close her year as Captain….and Louise Simmons is truly grateful for her enthusiasm and support over the past year, whilst juggling the demands of her golfing dream.

We then welcomed Maisie Hassall as our incoming Junior Captain, yet another fantastic and heart warming speech, and I know we all look forward to the year ahead as we continue to grow in Sussex.

We said farewell to Mollie Wheeler in her final year of Sussex girls squad, we will miss our outgoing girls and hope they will keep in touch as we move forward.  We also said goodbye to Julie Field, committee member for over 5 years.  Thank you for everything you have done to support me as Junior Organiser, and your commitment to the girls……you will definitely be missed!   

Thank you to East Brighton for hosting and looking after us, thank you again to Julie Field for all her hard work organising and buying prizes for this event.  Your trophy cleaning skills are the best!!!!!

A massive thank you to past Sussex member and Girl’s Captain, Fenella Buss, in the Pro shop at East Brighton, you were so helpful all day.

We look forward to our final couple of events in 2021 - triangular match on the 9th October at Sittingbourne golf club, and the Progression Stableford at Rye on Monday 25th October.
