SCLGA has a Pathway for girls to learn about and play golf (they must be 17 years old or below on the 1st January to play as a junior).
The
Sussex Pathway for Junior Girls is designed to suit all abilities, starting with entry level
coaching. Two Development Academies provide focussed coaching to enable girls
to craft their technique & skills. The County’s Performance squad (Team Sussex) is typically chosen from the best girls at Academy level. All our coaching complements any individual coaching they have at their home Club.
Team Sussex girls have the opportunity to take part in England Golf’s South
East regional training programme and onwards to National level. As well as the
Junior golf programme, sub 11 HCP index girls have the opportunity to take part in
the County Player Development Programme which feeds into the County’s 1st
and 2nd Teams and possible selection for Southern Region Inter County Match Week.
The aim of all our coaching and development is to:
We work with amazing PGA coaches including:-
If your daughter has not taken part in a Sussex Girls' event or any of the County’s coaching, you can be assured of a very warm welcome and a friendly environment. They will leave with a smile on their face and lifelong friendships made along the way and will develop as a golfer.
Representing Sussex is a great honour. Girls learn how to perform, compete, and take part in a team of like minded girls. This experience helps cement the foundation of a player’s future golf development whichever path they choose.
Do get in touch if you need any further information or help, I am here to support you
in any way I can.
