Selection Framework for SCLGA Team Sussex Squad & County Matches

·       Scoring Average

We’re looking for improvement in scoring average particularly away from home course. Is the player improving, struggling or playing consistently? We love to see juniors who can perform under pressure away from home. We are less likley to select a player who can only perform on their own course in more 'comfortable' conditions.

·       Junior Opens and Spring Meeting, Girls County Championships and Autumn Meeting

We expect Squad and Academy members to play in lots of Junior Opens, particularly the designated OOM events and the three main events we organise for Sussex girls.

·       SCLGA County Championships

The annual Sussex County Championship, played over several days for players with 16 or below HCP Index, is a great test. We  recommend any qualifying HCP girl to enter.

·       Participation in Coaching including feedback/use of CoachNow

We have an expectation that Squad and Academy girls should actively engage with our coaching and provide ‘self assessment’ around four main areas recording statistics using the CoachNow app. They are  GIR, 3 putts, scrambling and double bogeys. Boring golf wins matches!

·      General attitude on and off the course

Sussex is proud to have a friendly, fun and competitive environment with players who show respect and team spirit. A happy player and team is MUCH more likely to succeed.
