The SCLGA board and committee are made up of voluntary members who all work to support the County and Ladies Golf. Its a rewarding and enjoyable role and is for a maximum term which is why we are faced with losing some of our committee members this year. We are therefore looking for new members to join the Competitions Committee.
A little about the role -
In her first year on the Competitions Committee, a new member would normally assist more experienced members in running a couple of County competitions and possibly run one competition. From year 2 onwards she would be the lead organiser for one of the County competitions and may also run one of the Divisions, the Morrice Foursomes or the Trio Trophy. It is an opportunity to get involved in County events, working as a team with members of other golf clubs.
A competitions committee member would need some computer skills, i.e. creating a basic word document, managing an excel spreadsheet and learning and inputting scores on the IG software. Most of those who have joined the Competitions Committee have found it both enjoyable and very fulfilling.
If you are interested in joining us and/or wish to discuss the role further, please contact Sue Rushworth.
